Pay-Per-Click and Google Adwords
The trick to success with Pay-Per-Click ads isn't to avoid them, it's to use them cautiously. As long as you're getting a fair return on your investment with PPC, it's worth it to keep grinding it out as you refine your keywords and creatives. The hard part is knowing which keywords NOT to use. Don't try to blanket the world with your ads. This would be budget abuse. What do we do after we set up everything?
After we set up your campaigns for Google Adwords or MSN or Yahoo or the small traffic sources, we then monitor the calls, clicks, and visitor retention. We then trim the spending and reallocate the money to other areas.
Google Adwords, as well as their Yahoo and Microsoft/MSN counterparts, typically require a reasonable amount of trial and error to find what is most effective with your product and site. Sometimes the Adwords campaign needs to be adjusted, and sometimes the site needs adjustment. This recipe is unique to each website.
After the site is set up, we occasionally monitor it to ensure optimal results and quality traffic without wasting spend. This second phase is less costly on our part, since we only have to maintain performance.
